What is the
EuroPass?
The Europass was the result of the work of the European
Commission and Cedofop. The goals were that of having a
uniform transparency in vocational qualifications, which
eventually developed what now is called the Europass. There are
two major frameworks that guide the Europass standards. These
are the European Credit Transfer for Vocational Education and
Training (VET) and the European Quality Assurance for VET.
Among other benefits, the Europass removes obstacles to
mobility which existed because of lack of transparency in VET.
Presently, Global University in Malta managed to include in its Europass curriculum the Christian Service
program (European Qualification Framework /Malta Qualification Framework (EQF/MQF) 3). All
undergraduate certificates and the BSB have a level 5 while all BAs are level 6. MAs and the MDiv
programs are level 7 (see attachment). Currently, I am working on the application of for the Christian Life
Series for an MQF level 2. Consequently, GU students that enroll from the Maltese office have all the
benefits that the Europass offers in Malta. One of the benefits is that our credits are recognized in 52
countries (download PDF). This is one reason why Global University in the US is encouraging their offices
around the world to notify their students with this opportunity.
